Intellect

To someone looking form the outside in these goals and values may not line up at all, or maybe very few do.  Yet, to me, they’re as connected as the moon is to the tides, invisible to see, yet impossible to ignore. That may be a far-flung analogy but I myself am a little far-flung at times. So how do my core values line up with my goals? That’s what you’re about to find out.
Travelling through Europe, specifically backpacking, is my top goal simply because it pertains to all five of my top values. Faith; because for me all I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen. Independence; simply because how much more independent can you be than backpacking through a foreign country or two? Artistry; you can’t get much more artistic than old Europe in all it’s glory. Adventure and intellect; these two go hand-in-hand as travelling in a foreign is an adventure all it’s and it teaches you not only about the place you are going, but where you’ve been and where you may go.
For some people the goal of having 15 tattoos may seem crazy, stupid, or just a young kid trying to be rebellious, but those people clearly see things only skin deep. Faith; since more than half the tattoos I have drawn up are faith based it’s fairly obvious how that ties in. Artistry; some people collect canvases on their walls; I collect pieces on my skin. Adventure; talk to anyone with any number of tattoos and they will tell you that getting a tattoo is an adventure, an adventure within yourself that only you can take.
There exists a music festival, one of the largest in the world, to which tickets sell out in a matter of seconds, people from nearly every country of the world flock to, and houses some of the largest names in the music industry. This festival is Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium. Independence and adventure; much like how travelling Europe teaches you not only about yourself but the world around you, Tomorrowland is a an adventure halfway around the world and for five days you dance, party, and enjoy life with people you’ve never meet and may never see again from the opposite side of the world.
Nearly 80% of those in college studying culinary arts will say that their plans post-graduation is to own a restaurant, that however, is not me.  I personally would much rather own a catering company or work as a private chef; clearly I am undecided as of yet. Independence; you don’t get much more independent that being your own boss. Artistry; this lies both in the food and the way you can change someone’s event or night from “Wow!” to “Whoa . . .” Adventure; it takes an adventurous person to step out own their own and become an entrepreneur and in the end its an adventure all it’s own. Intellect; there is a certain level of skill and knowledge needed to start ones own business and that level must then increase and will constantly increase as the business progresses.

Burning Man can’t be explained, only experienced. This week long festival, held in Black Rock City (the third largest city in Nevada, which only exists for one week each year), is just as popular as the rumors that surround it. Independence, artistry, adventure , and intellect; Burning Mans motto: dedicated to the spirit of community, self-expression, and self-reliance.
